Isn’t it strange how we can readily jump ahead? The tender leaves of the bushes have just sprouted, and yet one can quickly imagine those lazy, hazy days of the next season. Although the buildings are the principal focus in this painting, that which I love best is the water and the brightly coloured flowers. Winter is a monotone time .(except for the brilliantly blue skies on the coldest of days) I am enamoured of gardening and I attempt to have continuously blooming displays. To succeed, one critical ingredient is water. Beyond this use and swimming, spending hours gazing into water, lakes and oceans, mark the truly relaxed summertime.

This watercolour will be coming with me to PEI to be sold at PEI’s Cardigan Farmers’Market. ( unless someone contacts me this week!) If a house represents oneself, then this painting has me happily ensconced in the country with a friend nearby, overlooking flowers with rapid access to water. And guess what? In a week, that is exactly be where I can be found. Tranquility is so restorative!
