2016

Yes, a New Year dawns bringing with it multiple good wishes. Many are for things beyond our control. I took this picture January 1st because it gave me joy and hope. I love the sight of glistening snow on winter branches, especially when we had a Christmas with no white stuff! The countryside is muffled and tranquil when covered by a fresh-fallen blanket. There is a peace in this stillness and silence. There is not a sound nor any footprints to track. The 3 vacant houses give me a lift because in less than 4 months returning birds will take up residence and renew the earth with their songs. Simple joys and hopes need observation and attention to details of everyday life. Perhaps therein lies my wish for you this leap year: Jump in to the nitty-gritty of each day! Track down joy and hope to nourish your souls each day! Provide shelter for those who will be arriving, as you can, knowing that they will enrich you with their stories and lives!
