mood /sentiments

What a feeling! I made a first sale of a watercolour shown on Facebook last night! Blueberry fields is being kept for a grade school friend who is currently out of town. I won’t show it again. It is promised for her.

Retirement has brought me such unimagined satisfaction. While I began to paint over 8 years ago, I have only become intent, painting 5 days out of 7, in the past 4 years. I never expected people might like my personal expressions enough to purchase them and hang them in their homes. In addition to shows, I post my work here on my blog and on Facebook. This sale is so encouraging. Some of you are seeing and liking my work!

I wrote earlier of the amazing fields upon fields of blueberries that constitute Henry’s 100 acres. In addition was his generosity, opening this 100 acre blueberry farm to neighbours. The picture tried to capture the vastness, the abundance and his goodness.

Painting a monochromatic scene using brown tones can fail to be uplifting. But I love the effect shown here. The plain brown metal frame does nothing to detract, and seems to enhance the mood. I like this picture because there appear to be numerous spots to poke into, to discover. A plot could easily arise for the writing of a story from the image. How does it speak to you?
